If you or one of your team members has been feeling distressed or unwell, or have been struggling to cope, it's a good idea to get help and support early. This can contribute to better ongoing prevention and effective treatment. Here are some support options.
It can help to talk to people you trust about how you're feeling. This could be your partner or best friend, or you can speak to a qualified counsellor at your organisation's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) who can provide confidential support and advice on a range of wellbeing issues.
Your GP or family doctor is also a good place to start. Make an appointment with them to discuss how you've been feeling. They can provide you with a range of options for managing any emotional health and wellbeing issue, including referral to a qualified mental health professional.
If things are serious and you need immediate help, support and advice, contact your region's crisis support hotline (e.g. Lifeline in Australia on 13 11 14). In case of an emergency call your region's emergency hotline (e.g. 000 in Australia) or contact the emergency department of your local hospital.
